Our beekeeper, Arlie Rauch, came and shared information about his experience as a beekeeper. He brought some of the tools of the trade with him to show to everyone. In addition, he came in his beekeeper garb and expained why a beekeeper has to have a costume that protects him from his bees. Thank you Arlie, for buzzin' over and telling us all about bees!!!

Catch the Reading Bug!

Welcome Summer Readers!
Nature Enthusiasts, bug collectors, and voracious readers are all invited to join “Catch the Reading Bug” at the Glendive Public Library. One of the 2008 Summer Reading Programs is open to young people, preschool through 4th grade, with prize drawings, story times and a reading incentive program. The 2008 “Catch the Reading Bug” program is sponsored by the Dairy Queen. Young people that complete their reading records will receive a free Dairy Queen treat. Registration for the Summer Reading Program begins with a kick-off party July 8, 2008. The kick-off will include registration and refreshments between 10am and 4pm, and our regular Tuesday Story Time at 10:30am.
Area teens, 5th through 12th grade, are invited to the “Metamorphosis” this summer at the Glendive Public Library. The program runs between July 8th and August 12th. Teens are welcome to come to the library, read for prizes and participate in the poetry and short story contests.
Generous contributions will be used as incentives, prizes, and writing contest awards. These donations have been received from Williston Basin Interstate, Glendive Jaycees, and Glendive Noon Lions.
All ages are welcome to register for both programs at any point during the 5-week program. The Summer Reading Programs will end on Friday, August 12th. For more information, call the library at 377-3633.
